January 25th, 2016 - I Believe In Miracles and Hard Work!

Hello family,

This week I will only talk about the miracle that happened. Sister Nicoli and I haven't had a baptism for awhile. We've been teaching and preparing many people, but they always get nervous and decide not to get baptized. This had made us very sad because we don't know what we've been doing wrong.

On Saturday, President Fusco called and said that we will baptize someone that day or on Sunday. He told us he had confidence in us and we would find someone who was prepared, and they would be baptized that weekend.

We were then directed to change our plans for the whole day and go to all the people who are progressing and call them to repent and be baptized (Like in the Book of Mormon). This is what we did. We felt like Alma and Amuleck. We have never had the spirit so strong with us and we never worked so hard.

Saturday night we had a few names, but nobody really wanted to be baptized this week. We continued with faith. We went to church in the rain and nobody that we invited was there.

After church we were more driven than ever. We went to the people that we thought were really prepared and ready for baptism, and nothing. We then thought, there is only one more option.. Isaias. Isaias goes to church every week, but he is waiting for a perfect day to be baptized. We went to his house and the Spirit spoke to him exactly what he needed to hear. He grabbed his towel and we walked to a place with water to to do the baptism, and he was baptized.

It was a miracle! I cant explain what happened, only that it was God. I love the scripture, 2 Nephi 27:23.. “I am God, and I am a God of miracles, and I will show unto the world that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever, and I work not among the children of men save it be according to their faith.”

God is a God or miracles! I love him and I am so amazed at what he did and does for me. My testimony was strengthened so much. I love you all. Remember that according to your faith, miracles HAPPEN.

Have a wonderful week.

January 18th, 2016 - It's Raining, It's Pouring!

I'm sitting inside listening to the rain hit the roof. It's perfect! I'm loving all the rain that we've been getting! We don't get a lot of rain in Iguatu, but it's raining today and it's wonderful.

On Tuesday, I finished the Book of Mormon. I absolutely love the Book of Mormon. I have learned so many things from studying this book. I know with all my heart that the Book of Mormon is true and the word of God. The Book of Mormon has changed my life, it has given me a hope. Read the Book.. it will help everything :)
Sister Nicoli  and Sister Unbedacht

This past week my companion and I worked so hard, a lot of sweat and tears. I have never worked so hard in my life! We've been preparing 2 people for baptism and we've been so excited because everything was going so well. They were so prepared! Sunday morning we passed by their houses and they weren't there. We then waited at church and they didn't show up. After church we went to their homes. One said that it was because of something he couldn't tell us. The other was because the pastor of her old church spoke with her telling her a lot of lies about the church. They decided that they wanted to wait until next week for the baptism.

Sister Nicoli and I were so sad. It's so sad that people say things about the church that aren't true. After all of this happened we sat on a bench and we both felt so discouraged. Then we both thought, we need to work harder. We got up and started to work. I learned something this week. I learned that sometimes things will happen that is completely out of our control. During our trials we can stay sad and discouraged or we can continue with hope. The gospel has given me so much hope. The Atonement has given me hope in my life. We always have the decision on how we will act to our different trials.

I saw many miracles this past week as we have been obedient with exactness. I'm so grateful for this work. I am so grateful that we can always progress and do better the next day.

I love my Savior with all my heart and I love being a missionary!

I love you ALL!
Com amor,

ps. I got some letters for Christmas from the home ward and my Singles ward in Logan.. THANK YOU!

January 11th, 2016 - Working Hard and Preparing Many.

The longer I stay in Iguatu the more I love it! The people here have a huge place in my heart and I have been so touched by many of them.

This past week was transfers and the 2 other Sisters that were with us were transferred. We thought that 2 other Sisters would take their place, but they decided to shut their area. We are now 6 missionaries here in Iguatu. We have taken the area of the other Sisters to help their investigators and we've helped a lot of them to prepare for baptism.

Sister Nicoli and I have been helping a lot of people prepare. Each day we have a goal to do 4 dates for baptism, and it's helping a lot. We have many people who are preparing, but just waiting for a few things to happen.

This week there was a lot of RAIN! I'm sleeping with a jacket and sweats! I never thought that I would feel cold, but I am cold! I know that if any of you visited here, the nights would still be very hot, but I have become acclimated to the weather here.

This week I have learned a lot about how to accept the Lords timing. Lots of things happen here that bring me to my knees asking why. I have learned that when this happens I pray and ask the Lord what I need to learn from the experience. I'm learning that this is the LORDS work, not the work of Sister Unbedacht. I have come to put all of my trust in the Lord and work as hard as I can. I am so grateful for these lessons that I learn each day.

This next week we are planning to have a few baptisms in Iguatu! We still don't have a house but we are close!

I know that things are falling into place as we put our trust in the Lord and SERVE.

I love you all and I hope that you all have a WONDERFUL week!

With much love,

Sister Unbedacht
